Main Structural Components
Conveyor Belt
The core load-bearing component, commonly made of rubber, plastic, or metal materials, featuring elasticity and abrasion resistance. For specific applications, specialized materials such as acid/alkali-resistant or oil-resistant options can be selected.
Drive Unit
Power is supplied by an electric drum (integrated with a gear reducer) to drive the head pulley (driving drum) into rotation, which propels the belt in linear motion. The tail pulley (driven drum) operates synchronously via a tensioning mechanism.
Support and Protective Components
Includes idlers and idler brackets (ensuring stable belt operation), steel framework (bearing loads and reducing vibration), as well as safety devices such as guardrails and baffles to prevent material spillage.
Tension Adjustment Device
The tension is regulated by adjusting the driven pulley via a lead screw to control belt tightness and prevent misalignment. A secondary adjustment is required after 15–30 days of operation to maintain optimal performance.
Working Principle
The main drive, after being decelerated by a gear reducer, rotates the head pulley (driving drum). Frictional force between the pulley and conveyor belt propels the belt into motion. Materials enter at the tail end, are transported forward along with the belt, and are ultimately discharged from the head end in a parabolic trajectory, with the throwing distance influenced by the belt’s linear speed. Baffles on the receiving tray prevent material spillage, ensuring clean and safe conveying operations.
