A grinding machine is an equipment widely used in industries such as chemical engineering, waste recycling and reuse, plastic pipe and profile manufacturing, and plastic modification. Based on their grinding principles, they are primarily classified into two main categories: rotor (turbine-type, also known as disc-type) grinding machine and disc-type grinding machine. The most common type is the ambient temperature grinding machine, also referred to as mechanical pulverization.

Based on their grinding principles, they are primarily classified into two main categories: rotor (turbine-type, also known as disc-type) grinding machine and disc-type grinding machine. The most common type is the ambient temperature grinding machine, also referred to as mechanical pulverization.

Working Principle

The fundamental principle of a grinding machine involves the main shaft, equipped with precision bearings, driving a cutter head (or disc). Under the rotation of the cutter head, the moving blades rotate at high speed and come into tangential contact with the stationary blades, causing the incoming material to undergo intense collision and grinding, transforming it into a powdered form. In some models, high-speed particles are partially pulverized upon impact with a toothed plate and then extracted by suction. Larger particles continue to collide and are further pulverized before being drawn out. The ground fine powder is carried by the circulating air from the blower into a vibrating screen for separation. Oversized particles fall back for re-grinding, while the qualified fine powder enters the finished product storage bin via a cyclone separator and is discharged through the powder outlet tube.

Key Control and Cooling Methods

1.Fineness Adjustment

The fineness, particle size distribution, and flowability of the powder can be adjusted by modifying the gap between the grinding discs. Additionally, screens ranging from 10 to 120 mesh can be equipped according to specific requirements.

2.Cooling System

A combination of air and water cooling is employed, with some newer models utilizing triple cooling (air, water, and oil) to effectively control the material grinding temperature. This ensures the quality of the material remains unchanged and is particularly advantageous for grinding heat-sensitive plastics.

3.Feed Control

The vibration feeder ensures uniform material feeding. The rated current for vibration feeding is set based on the motor power, and the feeding speed is controlled using a slow-wave speed regulator.

The motor speed of the grinding machine can be freely adjusted according to process requirements, which improves work efficiency and reduces power consumption. It ensures a uniform increase and decreases in mechanical load, thereby extending the service life. New models, such as the 800-type, boast higher production output, stronger wear resistance, and longer service lives.

2.Automation and Environmental Protection

These machines feature fully automatic material feeding, discharging, and sorting processes, along with automatic pulse dust removal, automatic current adjustment, and a one-button start control system. This eliminates the need for manual operation, resulting in a dust-free, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly operation. The entire grinding process is fully enclosed, preventing any dust leakage, and is equipped with dust bags to effectively reduce dust pollution.

3.Materials and Components

The grinding discs, moving knives, and fixed knives can be customized. Some components are made of high-chromium steel and high-quality SKD11 grinding disc materials, which are easy to replace and can be reused after grinding. The new grinding disc design doubles the service life compared to ordinary grinding discs.

Operating Precautions for the Grinding Machine

1.Personnel and Training

The grinding machine should be supervised by designated personnel during operation. Operators must possess a certain level of technical proficiency. Prior to installation, they should undergo technical training to understand the principles and performance of the grinding machine and become familiar with the operating procedures.

2.Maintenance and Upkeep

Establish a safety operation system for equipment maintenance and upkeep and equip necessary maintenance tools and grease fittings. After a period of use, conduct inspections and repairs, replace worn-out parts such as grinding discs, check for loose connecting bolts and nuts, and ensure an adequate supply of high-temperature-resistant grease.

3.Equipment Inspection

The main shaft transmission components utilize high-quality bearings. The suction and discharge ducts are made of 304 stainless steels. The belt drive system is equipped with European-style pulleys, facilitating easy disassembly and maintenance.
